STYLE

Portrait-style: close-up, head and shoulders. For the little ones, a full baby portrait works just as well. Animals are also welcome, portrait-style or full body.

MEDIUM

Charcoal. The finished drawing will be sprayed with fixative so that it will not smudge, yellow, or wrinkle.

SOURCE

My drawings are based off reference photos. The higher the resolution (and better lighting) of the photo, the better. If there are different photo choices you’re considering, I'm happy to give you an idea as to which one would translate the best into a drawing.

SIZE

Drawings can be whatever size (and shape) you would like, but standard sizes are good options for avoiding custom matting or framing. Some standard sizes include 8"x 10", 11" x 14", 16" x 20", and 18" x 24".

TIMING

4 weeks. If you have different timing needs, please let me know.

USAGE

Feel free to share photos of your commission and/or post on social media! I reserve the right to do the same.

PRICE

In return for artwork, I ask that a donation be made to a charitable organization of your choice. For a standard portrait, I suggest donations of $1,000 per subject. For more complex drawings, I suggest donations of $1,500-$2,000 per subject. My amount suggestions are based on the complexity of the drawing and not its size.

One of my favorite charitable organizations is DonorsChoose, a crowd-sourcing platform for teachers to fund projects for their students. You can either choose your own projects to support, or provide me with a gift certificate to the organization.

Many corporations offer an employee charitable giving matching program - please remember to check if your donation qualifies!
